Established in 1987 in Indore, India, Makin Laboratories has built a strong legacy in pharmaceutical-grade contract manufacturing. In 2013, Mr. Yash Sharma acquired Makin Laboratories, transforming a well-established manufacturing enterprise into a research-driven, globally expanding CDMO.

Under his leadership, Makin evolved from a traditional Ayurvedic manufacturing unit into a diversified organisation specialising in Nutraceuticals, Herbal and Ayurvedic formulations, and Cosmeceuticals, with exports now reaching 25+ countries.

Today, Makin is a WHO-GMP certified, patent-protected nutraceutical CDMO with preclinical validation complete across multiple formulations and a manufacturing expansion planned across four continents. We don't just manufacture. We engineer formulations that deliver measurable outcomes.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Mr. Yash Sharma is the Managing Director of Makin Laboratories and the driving force behind its transformation into one of India's recognised nutraceutical CDMOs. He began his professional journey as a pharmaceutical salesman, building his understanding of the industry from the ground up before channeling that experience into entrepreneurship.

In 2013, Mr. Sharma acquired Makin Laboratories, then a modest enterprise with a turnover of approximately ₹2 Crore, and set about building a multifaceted, pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing organisation. His strategic clarity and relentless execution have driven the company to a turnover of ₹100 Crore, a 50x growth over a decade.

CHAIRPERSON

Mrs. Radhika Sharma serves as the Chairperson of Makin Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., bringing a values-driven approach to the company's growth and governance. Though she came from a non-pharmaceutical background, Mrs. Sharma became an integral part of the business during its earliest and most demanding years.

Her contribution extended beyond operational support. During the company's most challenging phases, she shared both the responsibilities and the vision required to grow the organisation. Today, as Chairperson, she continues to guide the company with clarity and purpose.

The Makin Timeline

2013

Acquisition and Transformation

Mr. Yash Sharma acquired Makin Laboratories, then operating from a 1,600 sq. ft. facility with a turnover of ₹2 Crore. A new chapter begins with a clear vision to build a world-class CDMO.

2013-2017

Building the Foundation

Diversification from traditional Ayurvedic manufacturing into Nutraceuticals, Herbal formulations, and Cosmeceuticals. Rapid growth in client base and manufacturing capabilities.

2018

Quality Milestone

Makin becomes the first organisation in Central India to obtain the WHO-GMP Certificate, establishing its commitment to global pharmaceutical-grade quality standards.

2020

R&D Investment

Establishment of an in-house R&D facility, marking Makin's shift towards innovation-led, science-backed formulation development.

2021

Infrastructure Expansion

Acquisition of a new 4-acre manufacturing unit, significantly scaling production capacity and enabling entry into new product categories.

2022-2023

Strategic Collaborations

Partnerships forged with prominent Indian pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies. Exports expanded to 25+ countries across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

Research Acceleration
